One Week Marketing - Do You Need It? -- By Graeme Henderson

There is so much rubbish on the internet designed to trap the unwary would-be affiliate marketer that it is almost impossible to know where to find anything that is actually useful. When I found Jennifer Ledbetter's blog over at potpiegirl.com, I discovered a wealth of useful and motivational stuff that helped me pick my way through the whole online marketing world.
Having spent years trying to make money without success, I realised I needed a plan. I tried to work it out for myself, but I found that it's a Catch 22 situation - until you've made money on the internet, there's no way of knowing how to make money on the internet. Of course, there are plenty of people willing to sell you their secrets for a few hundred dollars. Fortunately, I didn't have a few hundred dollars to spend.
So, I hoped instead to find someone who'd seen it, done it, literally written the book and was willing to give the information away for free. Then I understood that giving such information away for free was ridiculous; why would anyone do that with their hard-earned knowledge?
So, working on the "speculate to accumulate" basis I decided that I would have to spend some money. By now, I'd come to trust Jennifer through reading her blog on a regular basis so I bought her product, One Week Marketing.
What is it One Week Marketing?
A collection of ebooks detailing a method of making money online, including checklists, mind maps and an email conversation with a true beginner as Jennifer leads him step by step through a marketing campaign
Does It Work?
In my experience, yes. There are of course many ways to skin a cat and this is just one of them. It may not work for everyone, but from a personal point of view I can say that it has worked for me.
Is It Suitable For Beginners?
Absolutely. Jennifer's style is accessible to beginners and her method is simple.
Do You Really Need It?
To be honest, there's nothing in here that you couldn't work out for yourself given enough time. But, if time is short then, yes, I'd definitely recommend it.
Jennifer Ledbetter's One Week Marketing is just one of many products that profess to give you the secret of making money online. You could choose one at random, but it's probably better to go with someone you can trust. I believed I could trust Jennifer after reading her blog, and I was not disappointed. If nothing else, her advice is honest and down-to-earth. There are no guarantees that you can make money using this system, of course, but there is no BS here. It does what it says on the tin.
If you're looking to start an online business then this is definitely a great way to go about it.
Graeme has a number of websites from which he makes a little money each month. He has written a Squidoo Lens that gives more information about making an online marketing plan and you can find even more information on his website The Post Service

Why Affiliate Marketing Is Ideal for Internet Marketing Newbies -- By Soon Lim

Why Affiliate Marketing Is Ideal for Internet Marketing Newbies -- By Soon Lim

More and more people are interested in making money online and Internet marketing. But a lot simply don't know where to start. For these newbies, I'd recommend affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing basically means that you're acting as an affiliate and helping to sell the products of other vendors. When you make a sale, you'll be paid a percentage of the sale price as your commission. The reason that affiliate marketing is ideal for Internet marketing newbies is because it is one of the easiest ways to start making money online. As an affiliate marketer, you don't need to worry about building or creating your own product. You don't have to think about what type of product to create and whether there's sufficient demand for that product. Imagine putting in a lot of time, money and effort into making something only to discover that nobody wants to buy it! In affiliate marketing, all the risks and work associated with that lie solely with the product's owner and seller. If you find that the product doesn't sell well, simply switch to selling another vendor's product. And if you think about all the headaches associated with carrying your own product, your loss in terms of time, money and effort can add up. For instance, you'll have to spend money to store your product in a warehouse every month. You'll also need to arrange for your product to be delivered or shipped, another item of cost which can be high. And if your customers have any problems with the product, the first person they'll approach to solve their problems will naturally be the product's seller. You'll have to handle these complaints yourselves or even hire people to provide customer service support. As an affiliate marketer, you won't have all these hassles and problems to deal with. And as a newbie in Internet marketing, one less problem can mean the difference between getting stuck and moving ahead. Taking part in affiliate marketing, however, doesn't mean zero work or effort. You're running an online business after all. And you'll still need to do some Internet marketing to build your business. You'll need to set up your own website or landing page. That means you'll need a domain of your own as well as a hosting account. Once you've set those up, what you'll need to focus on is driving traffic to your website and building a list. And traffic generation and list building are entire topics in themselves which I've covered in my other articles. As a newbie in Internet marketing, there are many new things you'll need to learn. Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to get up to speed fast. You can leave the complicated stuff of selling your own product to others. What you'll need to focus on to ensure your online success are the essentials like traffic generation and list building. Google+: What It Is and How Your Web Content Can Benefit From It -- By Julia E Spence

There's a new social network out. And it's claiming to turn the entire world of Google into a giant social Internet world. Invented by Google itself, it's directly rivaling Facebook, with the advantage of targeted network sharing. Google+ may offer social users a way to connect directly with your web content and share it to a group of their friends, encouraging the sharing of web content much more than Facebook.
After one year of research and several delays, Google has finally launched Google + this past July (2011). The social project created by the search engine giant will allow you to access a Google + profile, view notifications, and share content instantly. Notifications are oddly identical to Facebook (a red number that increases with your new messages or notices).
The Stream is the essential part of Google + that is very similar to the Facebook news feed. It allows you to share pictures, links, videos or locations. The best part about this new Facebook rivalry is that Google + allows you to share directly from Google. And instead of sharing with all your friends, Google + offers a new concept: to share targeted information with your various social groups. And to do this, Google + uses a system called "Circles." Google+ Circles is offering integration at every level, so you get to choose a lot more options when sharing information to friends. It builds on the lack of integration that Facebook offers in this area so that you can actually drag and drop your friends or family into groups and share content only with your selected groups. This is the perfect advantage for any kind of web content; people are more apt to share your web content with the greater options and choices they have in sharing.
Every single aspect of Google+ has been created for the benefit and amusement of the user. When you remove a friend, a puff of smoke appears; when you take away a social circle, it rolls away of the screen. It's totally whimsical and fun. And instead of just photo tagging, you have a full html picture editor for every picture you upload. And instead of a single person video chat, Google+ brings "Hangouts" to the user: it's a way for a group of friends to connect rather than just a one-on-one chat.
Complete with Google+ comes Google+ Sparks and mobile apps. The experts are saying that Google may just have nailed it with their network that competes directly with Facebook. If Google+ ends up with a larger amount of social users than Facebook, after the proper advertising, your web content may really have a chance of sprouting some wings.

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners - Is Real Income Possible? -- By Peter Lawlor

When it comes to understanding affiliate marketing, whether you're a beginner or veteran, you either get it or you don't.
I don't mean that you necessarily understand all the methods and techniques; that takes a long time to master. I'm talking about understanding the power of being an affiliate as a true business model.
I got into web marketing for my small business. I needed clients, so I turned to the web. In the process, I discovered affiliate marketing. Until then, I naively believed the only way websites made money was by selling banner ads or AdSense.
The affiliate marketing concept hit my in the gut; I was blindsided by a concept so simple: yet I immediately understood the potential.
In fact, there really is no limit to how big of a business you can build as an affiliate, even if you're just a beginner.
Like I said, I ran a small offline business which entailed a lot of customer service. As an affiliate, on the other hand, you gain access to tens of thousands of products to sell and you don't have to worry about customer service, shipping, returns, support, etc. The fact is you can focus 100 percent of your time and energy on selling.
The best 2 aspects of affiliate marketing is it's scalable and presents a passive income opportunity.
Affiliate marketing for beginners.
There are only 2 requirements to succeed and make money as an affiliate - whether you're a beginner or veteran. Those two requirements are:
  1. Traffic; and
  2. Pre-selling copywriting.
That's it. If you can get traffic to your affiliate offer and can pre-sell it, you can make money.
Affiliate marketing for beginners is the same as it is for veterans. Don't complicate it. Don't think it requires all kinds of fancy set up. All you need, at the foundational level is traffic and pre-selling copy.
Now that the abstract is take care of, I'll discuss a few concrete methods so that affiliate marketing for beginners. There are many methods and techniques for being an affiliate marketer. This is good. But it also helps to latch onto one method and run with it.
Affiliate marketing for beginners - 3 methods:
1. List building
Yes, you've probably heard this before. List building is a technique that has generated millions of dollars in profits.
Again, for list building to succeed, you need traffic to your page where you attract subscribers and copy that converts visitors to subscribers.
How do you attract subscribers? Offer something valuable to your targeted readers. In any niche there's some question or series of questions you can answer. Create a report or guide giving the information sought and give it away in exchange for an email address.
You can give away videos, free stuff, run contests, give away access to software... the sky is the limit. Be creative and put yourself in the shoes of your target market and ask: what would I want to know?
This model can take a little while to generate an income unless you buy some traffic to your opt in page. However, once you build a list of subscribers and you treat them well, you have a ready audience for your affiliate promotions.
2. Build a loyal audience and recommend products
If you can build a loyal audience with a blog or an e-newsletter, then you can recommend products that some of your audience will buy. This model includes building a blog. You can then recommend products in your blog posts and/or in an e-newsletter your run.
This method takes time to establish because it takes time to build up a loyal audience of readers.
3. Create a review website
This is probably one of faster methods to earn money in affiliate marketing. The concept is exceedingly simple and when done right, effective.
A review site is an excellent affiliate marketing model for beginners. It's as simple as writing about a product you use and like. Write about every aspect of it... your likes, dislikes, how it helped you, why you bought it, and of course, where to buy it. You then provide an affiliate link to where it's sold online.
There's no reason to stop at one product (although the single product review website is a viable and effective review website mode). You can also create affiliate review websites that promote an entire product line. This format is more informational than a personal recommendation. This too, can be effective.
Is real income possible, even for beginner affiliate marketers?
Yes. I'm no veteran by any stretch. However, I earn a decent monthly income from affiliate marketing using the 3 techniques above (the review site accounts for the bulk of my affiliate marketing income). Most importantly, using concrete models, I focus like a laser on traffic and pre-selling copy.
Next, discover how to build profitable affiliate review sites and start earning an online income relatively quickly.

An Introduction to Affiliate Marketing -- By Harvey McEwan

What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate Marketing can best be described in many ways but in its simplest form it can be described as a service that another company sells your product and/or service through a series of websites that have agreed to use your services. Therefore your website will be selling a product and/or service while your affiliate will be a set of sites that are built solely to sell other products and/or services from other companies. A fee will be paid whenever someone converts and purchases the products on offer. Other desired actions can also be used as the aim but it is mostly used to help generate leads and sales.
Many active in search engine marketing will consider affiliate marketing as a major component in their online marketing strategy.
To help record the affiliate sales a unique link is used and will be used when driving users to your site thus accurately recording which affiliate generated the sale was generated by.
Costing is calculated on a cost-per-acquisition (CPA) basis. Therefore unless the affiliate generates a sale there will be no cost. In cases of a sale there will be a fixed percentage to be paid.
Why Choose Affiliate Marketing?
As a favoured online marketing strategy it can give the potential to achieve increased website traffic and be very profitable, whilst allowing the webmaster to choose from a selection of products and service that are best suited to the website being displayed. As a result a clear benefit will be the fact there is no orders necessary or customer service required concerning the products. So little trouble for high gain. It has a return on investment (ROI) rate that proves very appealing, because money is only spent when a sale is made. The increased traffic may not convert sales but because the traffic is free there may be an increase in newsletter sign ups and regular viewers that were gained, which can still be considered as valuable.
Other methods that can help assist this can be with the addition of paid search campaigns along with conversion rate optimisations (CRO), to help achieve sales and conversions that can help capitalise on current opportunities within the current website and to help drive up the current conversion rate. Not forgetting the many search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques that can be adopted. It would be recommended to speak to n search engine marketing agency to help achieve the best results if a mix of SEO, PPC, CRO and affiliate marketing are destined to be used. As in many cases a full pronged attack will result in much greater benefits than choosing only the single area to attack.
Harvey McEwan writes to offer information and advice on a variety of areas, from technology to holiday destinations. Read through Harvey's other articles here to find out more.

Affiliate Marketing - What It Is? --- By Carmen Matthews

What is affiliate marketing? To describe it in simple terms, it is a way to make money online where a person, as an online publisher, receives benefits for helping other businesses promote their website, products, and services. This can be done by providing links to the business being promoted through an affiliate's own blogs or website.
According to a recent survey made in a popular blog site, 29% of bloggers and blog readers regularly engage in affiliate marketing activities while 24% say they sometimes do it. On the other hand, 27% said that they have never done it or used their blogs for that purpose. 6% said that they used to engage in the activity but have stopped for various reasons; while 14% have no idea on what it is.
There are many ways of promoting a business, the most common of which is to provide links to the business on the affiliate's website or blog posts in exchange for commissions when the referrals actually make a purchase. Other programs pay for referrals who act positively on calls for action made through your website such as subscribing for a newsletter or participating in an online survey, where they leave their email address or other contact information.
Normally, the fees for referrals come in the form of commissions which are usually a percentage of a consummated sale, but may also be a fixed amount paid for each conversion. In affiliate marketing, conversions are usually monitored using a link with an embedded code known only to the advertiser who then tracks the source of the conversions, often through cookies. In some other cases, the advertiser may give the publisher coupon codes for use by their readers. The coupon codes are then used in tracking conversions.
A lot of advertisers prefer to use affiliate marketing to promote their products and services primarily because of two reasons:
  1. With this marketing method, advertisers do not have to worry about unnecessarily paying for promotional expenses because they only have to pay whenever there is a conversion. This means that they get a lot of advertising mileage from their network of affiliates that help boost overall sales, while making minimal spending for overhead expenses by paying the affiliate marketers only for the actual sales they make.
  2. Advertisers are likewise aware that a lot of web publishers prefer to be affiliate marketers simply because products that are relevant to their own websites can help boost their earnings way beyond what other advertising schemes such as cost per click or cost per impression, can do.
Affiliate marketing works best when trust is established between the publisher and its audience or followers. This is why such programs are very profitable for bloggers who have a huge following as they can easily recommend products or services to their readers. However, this can also work against the blogger as he risks breaking his readers' trust by promoting the wrong products. A blogger therefore must be careful in selecting an affiliate marketing program to join, and which products to promote.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing --- By David Ansley

As the Internet continues to grow and spread out to cover all parts of the world, everyone wants on the online bandwagon. The craze for everything Internet started quite a number of years ago, and is today showing no signs of slowing up. In fact, it's only increasing due to the current economic climate as more people are turning to the internet for a second income opportunity. Businesses are shifting to the online world in a bid to attract customers from all over. Nowadays, everybody wants to exploit the huge customer base that the Internet has opened up. However, in order to make this happen, one must establish one's online presence through Internet marketing. And one of the most common and profitable ways in which Internet marketing is being carried out today is through "affiliate marketing".
In most cases of affiliate marketing, a website owner is able to get other websites or individuals to promote his or her site. This can be carried out by means of using banner ads, the use of small text links, and even product reviews. It is sensible to begin an online venture with affiliate marketing, as it is so cost effective and most affiliate programs today are free to join. Every website is seeking to maximize the traffic that it gets, and affiliate marketing is a great way to achieve this. The great thing about this channel of online marketing is that a website gets increased traffic through an indirect source. This is much more valuable because the customers that reach the website through the affiliate link are already eager to know more about the product and service being offered.
Making money online through the use of Affiliate Marketing isn't rocket science, and you don't have to be a computer genius to succeed in this area either. Currently online myself I have set up multiple streams of income, making modest daily amounts each. But originally when I began, it did take quite a number of months to figure it out. With the help and guidance I received online through forums and communities I've joined, I did succeed, and so can you.
Be willing to learn from any mistakes that you make, be willing to take some criticism, but most important of all is to be willing to put in the time and work required to make things happen for you Today! Very few people are turning into millionaires overnight, however it is in most people's abilities to obtain a decent living or create a life changing residual income.
I do truly wish you all the best in which ever online business opportunity you choose to go for, work hard, and put in the effort and you will succeed. Just TAKE ACTION...

Affiliate Marketing Support -- By David Benton

There are a few advantages of getting started in internet marketing through affiliate marketing. For one you will have a product to sell and another, you will have started a business support system. You should have some sort of support to help you get started and leverage your time through all the learning curves. As people start out to make money on the internet, there is a mixture of hope, skepticism and confusion. It is important to start out in the right direction and avoid wasting time on all the myriads of scams out there. A good support system can help leverage your time and ultimately make all the difference between success and failure.
Affiliate marketing support is important in your affiliate marketing career and well worth the time to get a little insight on how things work in the industry. Forums are helpful in keeping you updated in the latest trends in the industry, what works, what doesn't work and in getting advice on specific subjects. You can also create valuable networking connections there that will be useful in the future.
In addition to getting support from the marketer you can also seek help with the actual affiliate merchant you are promoting. The better merchants will be there to provide tips, support and training. The support you receive will lead to more product and help you promote them. It is in their best interest to equip you with everything you need to succeed and sell their products.
Finding a good mentor is also a good idea. A good mentor will leverage your time and shorten the learning curve. This is someone you can get direct access to and learn from. Avoid the guru who is just interested in marketing their product instead of offering you their help. Most mentors spend time in forums, offering free services to boost their expert status and to build their credibility. There is no substitute to learning from someone who is already successful in doing what you also want to succeed at. While there are lots of products you can find on the market to get you started, remember that the world of affiliate and internet marketing is changing constantly and quickly. It is easy for a product to become outdated with the methods that worked once but are not useful now.
Also beware of all the marketers who show you their merchant accounts claiming they are making big money on the system they are selling. Most are making that big money from selling the affiliate product, not the system. This I believe misleads a lot of people.
You may opt to pay a nominal fee to be a part of a membership training or support website. Join one that is specifically designed for affiliate marketing as well as other internet marketing niches you are interested in.
These are only a few of the ideas for affiliate marketing support. Always maintain a good business support system as you move forward on your journey.

8 Keys To Affiliate Marketing

8 Key Differences Between Super Affiliates and Struggling Affiliates
Author: Beau Blackwell, ClickBank | March 24th, 2010

Written by: Mark Ling, Guest Author

Since I’ve been a successful affiliate marketer for a long time and have coached many affiliates on how to be more successful, I thought it could be helpful write about the key differences that I see between the mindsets of super affiliates and struggling affiliates.

If you have dabbled in affiliate marketing but aren’t making a killing yet, then you might find that some of the differences I mention below are issues you need to resolve first.

1. Super affiliates take action towards their goals, while struggling affiliates often procrastinate, or spend too much time overeducating or preparing themselves and not enough time DOING. Super affiliates are usually prepared to fail fast and often, learning from their mistakes, rather than not making any progress at all.

2. Super affiliates invest their money in software, marketing, and outsourcing, and then spend what is left. Struggling affiliates spend the vast majority of their money on other parts of their lives, and then invest what is left in their online business.

3. Super affiliates invest their time in networking with and learning from other successful people, whereas struggling affiliates often try to work alone, or listen to people who have a negative influence on them. In addition, super affiliates try to learn as much as possible from other successful people through books, audio, or DVDs. This is especially important when you’re not in a position or location where you can network with other successful Internet marketers face to face.

4. On a similar note, super affiliates enjoy the process of learning, even when they’re learning from their failures. Struggling affiliates often don’t enjoy having to constantly learn new techniques and ideas, and don’t appreciate the experience of failing in order to learn and grow.

5. Most super affiliates understand the power of their mind and focus on developing strong self belief and an abundance mindset, whereas struggling affiliates can get derailed by negative self-talk, focusing on what is going wrong in their lives and in their affiliate marketing efforts.

6. Most super affiliate millionaires that I’ve met in person (and I’ve met dozens) only focus on one or two niches. It’s true that most have experimented in many other niches in order to find the ‘golden’ one or two that work for them. Struggling affiliates, though, are often scattered all over the place, and even when they find a niche that makes them money, they keep moving on to the next niche without fully maximizing their potential or getting to know a niche in extreme depth.

7. Most super affiliates build a strong mailing list through email capture and make regular repeat sales to the same people. Struggling affiliates often like to skip the process of building a website to gain leads and focus on direct traffic, missing out on the chance of repeat sales and having more marketing opportunities.

8. Most super affiliate millionaires I know, including myself, make the vast majority of their money from the big competitive niches, and not from the smaller, less competitive niches. Super affiliates are not afraid of competition, whereas many struggling affiliates are. Super affiliates realize that to make big money, you have to go where the big money is. I’ll clarify this by saying that small niches are good to sink your teeth into early on and to make some sales, but in the long run, to make 7 figures or more online, you need to get good at marketing in one of the major niches where billions of dollars are being spent (e.g., diet/fitness, make money online, dating/relationships niches, self-help, security software, etc.).

I hope the above differences between super affiliates and struggling affiliates inspire you to upgrade your mindset and start thinking and acting like a super affiliate! Above all, make sure you follow point #1: super affiliates take action towards their goals.

All the best to your success!

NOW WE ARE SOLAR AFFILIATES

Today we received verification that we were accepted as members in an affiliate program for a solar company.
"Real Goods Solar" has informed us, by email, today that we can help them spread the word on their solar products for the Colorado and California areas.

We have been researching the solar company "Real Goods Solar" and their products for two years now.
Starting as stock investors of the company the research showed they went public in 2007.
They were one of or the first solar company in the U.S.A. to market solar products.

Their stock hasn't made us money but their obvious commitment to quality solar panels and their time in business says volumes about the value they provide for their customers.
You see, according to their company history, they have been in business since 1978 as a private company.
In 2007 when they went public on the stock exchange is when we started watching them.
They are a good, hard working  company with sticktoitiveness. All very good characteristics for the provider of a product that must last twenty years or more.
